No doubt expecting parents are excited to reveal the gender of their baby BUT, it s simply gone too damn far. The latest accident involved a plane that crashed into the water in Cancun, Mexico as it was emitting pink smoke. Imagine being on the beach, excited for the prospective parents and seeing this disaster? Awful, sad and yet another example of taking the gender reveal too far.
A few months ago someone was killed by a firework explosion mishap during a gender reveal. I am certainly not saying stick with blue or pink balloons, but perhaps somewhere between balloons and keeping people safe? I love surprises, hell we all enjoy being unique and doing things that have never been done before. The birth of a baby is one of the most awesome experiences ever so where is the balance? Every idea seems like a great idea until it is too late.

Patti Smith is treating fans to a free, weekly online newsletter, containing poetry, music and ruminations from the punk legend herself.
The Gloria star took to Instagram earlier this week to announce she s teamed up with email subscription platform Substack for the newsletter, telling fans: Writing is what I do, and have since twelve, imagining myself Jo March.
